There are 91 campsites ( handicap available) nestled among towering pines each with picnic table and fire pit. Take a walk on our 1 mile walking trail through the parks 53 acres of woods. Picnic by "The Survivor" tree on the trail. Whether your vacation is for a family reunion, church retreat, honeymoon, or just to get away come and relax with us. The surrounding area offers many attractions to the new visitor or returning veteran. Itasca State Park — where the mighty Mississippi River begins the 2,552 mile winding pathway south to the Gulf of Mexico — is only 5 miles away. A walk or horse ride through the colorful wildflowers and towering pines will help one relive the folklore of  Paul Bunyan and Babe or search for the majestic bald eagles that nest here. Visit nearby 1890’s logging camps, or spend an afternoon browsing through unique shops at nearby Park Rapids or visit Clearwater County’s historical museum in Shevlin. The Shooting Star casino is less than 30 minutes away. The campground is open mid-May through mid-September, with primitive camping available for the fall hunting season.
